No child should live in fear of execution!
 WE MUST NOT REMAIN SILENT!
Wednesday September 20, 2006, the Iranian authorities
tied the noose around the necks of four youths in Tehran and murdered three of them.

One young man, Sina was dramatically spared at the last moment following a request by the relatives of his victim to delay the hanging. Vahid one of the hanged youth was under the age of 18. Sina and Vahid both had committed their crimes and had received their death sentences while less than 18 years of age. Many youth under the age of 18, have been executed now executed since the Islamic Republic took power in Iran. Here are just some examples of child executions in Iran:   According to Amnesty international reports: · Iman Faroki was executed on 19 January for a crime he allegedly committed when he was 17 years old· 18-year-old Ayaz M., and a child, Mahmoud A, were publicly hanged in Mashhad on 19 July. According to reports, they were convicted of sexual assault on a 13-year-old boy.· An unnamed 17-year-old was among four men executed on 23 August in Bandar Abbas. They were convicted of kidnapping, rape, and theft.· On 13 July, Ali Safarpour Rajabi was hanged for killing a police officer in Poldokhtar. He had been sentenced to death in February 2002 when he was 17 years old for a crime committed when he may have been only 16 years old.· Farshid Farighi, aged 21, was hanged in prison in the city of Bandar Abbas. He was convicted of five murders, reportedly carried out between the ages of 14 and 16.· On 12 September, a 22-year-old convicted of rape was publicly hanged in the southern province of Fars. He had reportedly been sentenced to death in 2000, suggesting that he was under the age of 18 when the crime was committed.· On 10 December Rostam Tajik was publicly executed in a park in the city of Esfahan, central Iran He had reportedly been sentenced to qisas (retribution specified by the victim's family) by the General Court of Esfahan for a murder committed in May 2001 when he was 16 years old.
There are a lot of children, who have been sentenced to death and now waiting to be executed in the prisons in Iran.

In an attempt to circumvent international pressure the Iranian authorities delay the carrying out of the death sentences served on young people and keep them in prison until they reach the age of 18 and then carry out the execution. This is blatantly against the demand to abolish handing out death sentences on offences committed by persons under the age of 18.

Such an assault on humanity can not be tolerated. Most of these young people who are accused of committing offences are themselves victims of a society that has failed them. No one, especially young people, must be allowed to be subjected to death penalty.

To day are the prisons in Iran home to many teenagers under 18 living in fear of execution.

Islamic Regime of Iran is one of the most brutal regimes in the world and it has no respect for the most vulnerable members of the society - the children.

This is a  CRIME against humanity which must be faced with widespread and organized protest in Iran and abroad. Two years ago we, thanks to a generous and extensive international support, managed to save the life of Zhila, a thirteen year girl sentenced to death by stoning. (www.zhilaa.com ). An effective international campaign is needed to put an end to this wave of killings and executions of youths. I, hereby, call on all concerned people and the defenders of children’s rights to join our campaign to completely eradicate the death sentence against children in Iran.Join our efforts to organise an international campaign against child execution in Iran.
Help us to stop these crimes against children in Iran!
